A Canadian startup called North, is introducing smart glasses “Focals” which tells you weather, read texts, helps you call an Uber and also connects you with Alexa, where the wearer can ask for information and this will be replied by a small speaker, this is easier as Alexa is inbuilt in the glasses.
Focals connect to the phone via Bluetooth and a small projector that beams data into wearer’s retina, this won’t be visible to others that easily, but when light dashes into the glass, it is just visible for others as a smudge.
Other AR elements which Focals delivers are calendar, updates, turn by turn navigations and the image displayed on the glass disappears automatically after 3minutes of non-use. Another highlight of the glass is that it looks like regular glasses, which makes it easier to wear without feeling over-embellished. Each pair has up to 18 hours battery charge, and each glass has to be customized according to each user.
A pair of this smartie costs $999, as a conclusion, one could say that Focals provide a smooth and canny way to interact with your smartphone without dragging them out of your pockets. As North claims, it helps the user to stay connected with the real world without distraction. Nevertheless in this techie era, get smart with cool smart glasses “Focals”, a different AR experience right in front of your eyes.
